This file contains correspondence related to the provision of medical care in Qatar. The file also contains information specifically related to the health of the Ruler of Qatar, [Shaikh ‘Abdullāh bin Jāsim Āl Thānī] and other members of his family.
On folios 2-4 the file contains a report written by Dr Richard Henry Barter Steele after he visited Qatar in 1945 to treat the Al Thani family. The file also contains a report on medical arrangements in Qatar from 1948 and a report on quarantine arrangements in the country from 1950.
The file contains a limited amount of correspondence in Arabic (with English translations) sent to the Political Agency in Bahrain from the Ruler of Qatar regarding his medical treatment and related matters.
