Scope & Content:

The file contains Kuwait Political Agency papers relating to the employment of foreigners in Kuwait.

It largely consists of correspondence between the Political Agent, Kuwait, and the Political Resident, Persian Gulf Residency, Bahrain. It also includes: correspondence between the Political Agent, Kuwait, and the United States Consul, Basra; correspondence between the Political Agent, Kuwait and Dr Levon Abel Akopiantz [or Akopiants]; copies of correspondence between Dr Akopiantz and Shaikh Ahmed al Jabir al Sabah, Ruler of Kuwait; correspondence between the Political Agent, Kuwait, and the American Independent Oil Company, Kuwait, and Kuwait Oil Company; and other correspondence.

the employment of an Egyptian doctor and his wife in the State Hospital
the employment of United States citizen Dr Akopiantz as a medical doctor
the employment of Palestinian refugee labour in Kuwait
