The foliation sequence does not include the leading flyleaf. A previous foliation sequence has been superseded and therefore crossed out. The sequence contains one foliation anomaly, missing out f 544.

- The enclosures to each despatch within the volume (each item) are divided by blue dividers. The sets of enclosures to despatches are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the volume. The enclosures withineach despatch are given a number, which is recorded forreference on the verso of the last folio of each enclosure, along with theoriginal reference, and a description of each enclosure. The despatch itself (notincluded) is numbered 1, the abstract of contents listing the enclosures (included in some items) is numbered 2, and the enclosures 3, 4,etc.
