The volume consists of a military report on Arabia. It was published in 1904 and prepared by the General Staff, War Office. It is divided into eight chapters by the following locations:

• ‘General Description of Arabia Proper.’
• The region of Syria [Greater Syria]
• The Hejaz
• The Yemen
• Nejd [Najd]
• El Haza [Al Hasa]
• The Euphrates Valley
• The Tigris Valley.

The chapters cover various topics that include a general description, military review, government, population, trade and products, communications, principal towns, railways, and geography such as mountains, rivers, and coastlines.

It includes the following ten appendices:
