This note was compiled by Captain Charles Monk Gibbon (Division of the Chief of the Staff), and relates to survey work in Persia. Gibbon discusses the survey instruments and equipment which should be used, and offers advice on how to better undertake survey work in the area, for example, by appeasing local residents.
The note was printed at the Government Monotype Press in Simla, and was intended to provide assistance to officers involved with intelligence work on the 'trans-frontier'.
