Corrections to Volume I (catalogued as IOR/L/PS/20/C101/1) of a series of official publications on routes in Persia [Iran] produced by the General Staff, India and printed at the Government Monotype Press in Simla [Shimla] in 1914.
The corrections concern routes Nos. 1, 3, 33, 35, 38, 39, 47, 48, 49, 49A, 61, 62, 65, 69, 80, 81, 85, 87, and 89. Each entry lists the ‘Authority’, i.e. the account of the traveller who supplied the corrected information, along with a date.
The corrections cover subjects including: road conditions and accessibility; topographical information; settlements, agriculture, and constructions along the routes, with some information on local populations; Russian activity near the border; and the availability of supplies.
