Annotations and manuscripts originally part of a collection of offprints etc. received by John Maynard Smith filed under 'Eric L. Charnov'. Contents include:

• Annotated draft manuscript of 'When should sex be environmentally determined?' by Eric Charnov and James Bull. Annotation is a note from 'Ric' (Eric Charnov) to Maynard Smith. The manuscript is undated.
• Draft manuscript of 'Sex ratio selection in eusocial Hymenoptera' by Eric L. Charnov.
• Draft manuscript of 'Local Mate Competition and Parental Investment' by Richard D. Alexander and Paul W. Sherman.
• Letter to Maynard Smith from Eric Charnov and annotated draft manuscript by Eric Charnov. The letter, dated 15 Sep 1977, refers to '2 papers on ESS applied to shrimp'. The draft manuscript dated March 1978 is 'Natural selection and sex change in pandalid shrimp. Test of a life history theory,' by Eric Charnov and is annotated by Eric Charnov for Maynard Smith. There is a discrepancy in the dates however as the letter is dated earlier than the draft manuscript. The second paper referred to is possibly 'Sex Ratio: Adaptive Response to Population Fluctuations in Pandalid Shrimp', which is among the unannotated offprints originally in Maynard Smith's collection.
• Correspondence of Eric Charnov with Maynard Smith and George C. Williams and a draft manuscript, 'Simultaneous hermaphroditism: Sperm competition and the cost of sex,' by Eric Charnov with his annotations. The correspondence includes a letter from Eric Charnov to Maynard Smith dated 25 Sep 1978 and a letter from George C. Williams to Eric Charnov dated 21 Sep 1978. The draft manuscript is annotated on the front page by Eric Charnov for Maynard Smith and was possibly sent to Maynard Smith at a date earlier than the correspondence referring to it.
• Proof, with revisions, of 'Sex change in plants: Old and new observations and new hypotheses,' by D.C. Freeman, K.T. Harper and E.L. Charnov
• Draft manuscript of 'Kin Selection and helpers at the nest ' by Eric Charnov.
• Draft manuscript of 'Sex ratio evolution in a variable environment' by E.L. Charnov et al.
• Draft manuscript 'On the origin of eusociality', by J.W. Stubblefield and E.L. Charnov and annotated copy of the published paper. Annotations possibly by Sean Nee. The name 'Sean Nee' is written at the top of the first folio. A flow chart on folio 2 (p. 182) is marked with the annotation, 'I understand why you should get a [female symbol] broad sex ratio in the winter generation in the hibernating [female symbol] case; I don't understand anything else.' The first paragraph on folio 4 (p. 184) is marked with 'Why?'. The backs of folios 6 and 7 and the front and back of folio 8 contain hand-drawn flow charts.
• Draft manuscript of 'Sex allocation and pollinator attraction in cosexual plants,' by Eric L. Charnov and James L. Bull
