- Similar to Volume 21/6/1 covering the same period; At the end of the book is a list dividing the pensioners as follows: Class 1 Governors and Commanders in Chief and their families; Class 2 Bishops and church dignitaries and their families; Class 3 Chaplains and their families; Class 4 Judges of Supreme Courts; Class 5 Civilians, India and China, and their families; Class 6 Servants of the Home Establishment and their families, not awarded under the Act of 1813; Class 7 Servants of the Home Establishment and their families, awarded under the Act of 1813; Class 8 Compensation to servants under the Charter Act of 1833; Class 9 Compensation to Commodores and labourers; Class 10 Military and marine officers and their families; From 1836, General Pensions were divided into the following six classes: Class A Those granted under the Act 53 Geo. 3, C.155, Section 93, to officers, clerks, extra clerks and others of the Home Establishment, officers of the East India College, Military Seminary and Depot, and to the officers of the Board of Control. Class B Compensation pensions under the Act 3 and 4, Wm 4, C.83, Section 7, to officers, clerks, extra clerks and others of the Home Establishment reduced on the termination of the East India Company's commercial charter, and to members of the late China Factory. Class C Pensions granted arbitrarily as a reward of distinguished or meritorious service. Pensions awarded to Judges and Archdeacons. Compassionate pensions to widows and families of officers killed in action. Fee Fund pensions, and all other pensions (except Tanjore Commission) which were not granted under the Act quoted under Class A. Class D Pensions of officers, clerks, etc. of the Tanjore Commission. Class E Pensions of officers and others retired from Haileybury College Class F Compassionate pensions on transfer from the East India Company to the Crown.
