f. 1r-v: Passio Sancti Cypriani (compare Biblioteca Hagiographica Latina, no. 2037, imperfect) and Rabanus Maurus, Homilia lxx (1r–v: imperfect), copied in the 14th century. This leaf originally formed part of the same manuscript as f. 158;
ff. 2r-v: blank, apart from libray markings;
ff. 3r-4r: early modern table of contents;
f. 4v: blank
f. 5r: Alcuin, Carmen xviii, copied in the second half of the 10th century;
ff. 5v-36v: Frithegod of Canterbury, Breviloquium Vitae Beati Wilfridi (Biblioteca Hagiographica Latina, no. 8891–92), written in the mid-10th century;
ff. 37r-40v: Papal, episcopal and royal letters, from Popes Gregory VII (r. 1073–1085), Paschal II (r. 1099–1118), Gelasius II (r. 1118–1119), Anastasius IV (r. 1153–1154) and Lucius III (r. 1181–1185), Alexander I, king of Scots (r. 1107–1124), Eadmer of Canterbury and others, including the Concordat of Worms of 1122, copied in the 12th century;

Sir Robert Bruce Cotton (b. 1571, d. 1631), 1st baronet, antiquary and politician
Cotton’s collection was augmented by his son, Sir Thomas Cotton (b. 1594, d. 1662), 2nd baronet, and his grandson, Sir John Cotton. Sir John Cotton (b. 1621, d. 1702), 3rd baronet: bequeathed the entire Cotton collection of books and manuscripts to trustees ‘for Publick Use and Advantage’, 12 and 13 William III, c. 7. Formed one of the foundation collections of the British Museum in 1753.
