Eleven finished drawings in pen and ink on water-colour paper, with captions in Mervyn Peake's hand:
- Duchess and the baby; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Six. While the Duchess sang the second verse of the song she kept tossing the baby violently up & down' (ff.2-3);
- Baby as a pig; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Six. So she set the little creature down & felt quite relieved to see it trot quietly away into the wood.' (ff.3-4);
- Five of spades; with caption inscribed 'Headpiece for Chapter Eight.' (ff.5-6);
- Three gardeners; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Eight. "Seven flung down his brush, & had just begun... and all of them bowed low"' (ff.7-8);
- Queen of Hearts; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Eight. When the Procession came opposite to Alice, they all stopped and looked at her, & the Queen said severely "Who is this?"' (ff.9-10);
- Duchess; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Nine. The Duchess took her choice & was gone in a moment.' (ff.11-12);
- Mock Turtle; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Nine "...The Mock Turtle sitting on a little ledge of rock... sighing as if his heart would break."' (ff.13-14);
- Knave of Hearts; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Eleven. "The Knave was standing before them, in chains, ..."' (ff.15-16);
- Hatter holding tea cup and slice of bread; drawing on cardboard; inscribed 'Ch 11. I'm a poor man said the Hatter' (f.17);
- March Hare; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Eleven. "I deny it," said the March Hare' (ff.18-19);
- Queen of Hearts; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Eleven. "Collar that Dormouse," the Queen shrieked out.' (ff.20-22).
