Eight finished drawings in pen and ink on water-colour paper, with captions in Mervyn Peake's hand:
- Caterpillar; with caption 'Chapter Five. "Who are you said the caterpillar" (2nd paragraph)' (ff.1-2);
- Father William and son; with caption 'Chapter Five. "You are old, Father William" the young man said/ And your hair has become very white; etc.'(ff.3-4);
- Frog-Footman; signed 'Peake'; with caption inscribed 'Chapter Six. ['I shall sit here, he said' crossed out] "... the Fish footman was gone & the other was sitting on the ground near the door, staring stupidly up into the sky." (ff.5-6);
- Cheshire Cat; with caption inscribed 'The Cat only grinned when it saw Alice." (ff.7-8);
- Hatter's tea party (f.9);
- Alice, King of Hearts, Queen of Hearts and the Cheshire Cat; inscribed 'Ch 8. I don't like the look of it at all, said the King' (f.10);
