- NOTE: According the House of Commons Journals, 26 March 1781, Vol. xxxviii, p. 319: “Mr Fitzhugh, from the Directors of the East India Company….. presented to the House, pursuant to their Order, a printed book intituled ‘Bengal Narrative, and also a printed book intituled ‘Bengal Appendix’. The said books are preserved amongst the other papers of this Session.” The narrative is apparently a reprint (? 1802) and is incomplete, but it would appear from the note written in a duplicate copy, now in the India Office Library, that it represents all that was printed by the East India Company.
