- Scope & Content:
- This discussion paper revisited the debate at the 1985 Ottawa conference on the organisation of future conferences. (See MS 71.) The related papers include the Rules of the existing International Society for the History of Cartography, 21 Sept 1971; copy correspondence 1985-6 between Brian Harley and Ed Dahl of the Public Archives of Canada in Ottawa about what had happened at the Ottawa conference (supplied by Ed Dahl in October 1993); Eila Campbell's explanation in 1987 of how the various conferences had been organised since 1964; and the paper by Ian Mumford, revised by Eila Campbell, 'On the Question of Arranging Future Conferences' (undated, 1987?).
