Literary Fund Documents Regarding Officers: Committee, Council, Treasurers and Registrars

Scope & Content:

Contains documents relating to appointments to the Committee of the Literary Fund, as well as to the Council, Treasurers, Registrars and Anniversary Committee in the nineteenth century, with one small file of later documents relating to the 1920s and 1930s. While these files mostly contain letters accepting or declining positions, some contain more involved correspondence. The folders in this box contain handwritten contents lists, probably prepared by Nigel Cross – these are generally helpful, although some misattributions corrected in these records. All lists in the descriptions are in chronological order.
