A paper slip stating 'This MS. came out of the Coleraine Family, last from Ald Townsend of Bruce Castle', found loose in the present MS. is now Add. 48196 C, f. 62. A similar slip occurs in Add. 48017, see above. Not recorded as missing from the Yelverton collection in a list of 1755 (Add. 48196 C, f. 61). The MS. was returned to the Yelverton collection with 48017 by George Chalmers, the antiquary, in 1797, see Add. 48196 A, f. 1. Bound in a single vellum leaf from a 15th-cent. English antiphoner of unidentified use. For MSS. bound in leaves from the same antiphoner, see Add. MSS. 48150 (where the item is further described), 48037 and 48043. Leather ties.
