GENEALOGIES OF NETHERLANDS FAMILIES; 16th cent. Latin and French.
1. ff. 12-269. Genealogical and biographical notices of members of the house of Luxembourg and allied families to c. 1521 (see ff. 181b, 184, 211b,) with painted arms in the margins. French. Compiled for Jacques de Luxembourg (d.1530), Seigneur de Fiennes and Governor of Flanders, by Roland Bournel, Seigneur de Boncourt?, Capitaine d'Auxy (preface, f. 12), whose arms appear at f. 12b.
2. ff. 270b-273. Genealogy of the Counts of Holland to the mid 16th cent.;
c. 1586, see below. Latin. Rough titles by Beale.
3. ff. 274-356b. 'Mirroir du fleur de la Noblesse du Pays bas. Colligé par Corneille Domburg filz de Martin Zelandois en L'an. 1586.' (title, f. 274).
A table of contents (f. 275) gives folio numbers for the genealogies included, but the MS. lacks this foliation, suggesting it to be a scribal copy. At the end (ff. 353-356b), is a list of surnames of noble families in the Netherlands. Another contemporary copy is Harley MS. 619. For a full list of genealogies included see CMA, ii, 1697, p. 137. For Corneille Domburg see A. J. Van Der Aa, Biographisch Woordenboek der Nederlanden, Haarlem, 1858, v, pp. 241-242.
Paper; ff. i + 401. Folio. c. 1521 and 1586. Art. 1 has a contemporary foliation 2-259. A 17th-cent. foliation 1-389 corrects and continues the earlier numbering. The edges of art. 1 are gilt and gauffered. Vellum binding with leather ties. A coloured label, letter 'P', on front cover. Numbered '38' and titled on the spine.
