Partly Latin. Partly drafts and contemporary copies. Bound into the volume at ff. 134-135 is unrelated material concerning a proclamation, late 16th cent. As follows: (a) Correspondence, etc., of the envoys, including letters to Henry VIII, correspondence with Thomas Cromwell and with Edward Fox, Bishop of Hereford; July 1535-March 1536, n.d. Some Latin. Chiefly drafts and contemporary copies, frequently in the autograph of Bonner, eg. ff. 49-85 passim. Some of the material is possibly in the autograph of Cavendish, see ff. 38, 41-47 passim, 98-101, 108-108b (see also f. 183). Most of the items are dated from Hamburg, where the envoys arrived on 21 Sept. 1535 (f. 40). The heading 'A letter to ye Queene' in a 17th-cent. hand (f. 37) is an error. ff. 35*-130; (b) Correspondence, etc., mainly between Otto von Pack al. Adam Pacaeus (also referred to as 'Dr Adams'), agent of the Duke of Saxony and the Landgrave of Hesse, and Bonner; July 1535-March 1536, n.d. Chiefly Latin. Some drafts and contemporary copies, partly in Bonner's autograph. The material includes: (i) Letter from Bernard a Mela, envoy of the Duke of Saxony to Bonner; 25 Sept. 1535.

For the date, see the reference to the death of Edward VI (f. 210). Miscellaneous memoranda occurs, including a comparison of the value of English and Danish coins (f. 226b). Bears contemporary foliation 1-30, with omissions and alterations.
