1. ff. 1-45. History of Scotland 1436-1561 by John Leslie, Bishop of Ross: an incomplete version in English to 1512 only. First line of title by Beale, f. 1. The present MS. is noticed in the first publication of Leslie's original Scots text by T. Thomson for the Bannatyne Club, no. 38, 1830, pp. v-vi. The expanded Latin version was first published at Rome, 1578. The present text is possibly related to, or copied from, a transcript in Stow's hand sold by Hofmann and Freeman, Cat. 21, English Historical Manuscripts before 1700 (Jan. 1968), no. 81.
2. ff. 48b-109. Abbreviation of the Scotichronicon of Fordun and Bowyer, books iii (part)-x (ff. 84-109) and xi-xvi (ff. 48b-76b). Editions are listed in C. Gross and E. B. Graves, Bibliography of British History to 1485, 1975, no. 2872 etc.; and MSS. in D. Murray, The Black Book of Paisley, 1885. Titles, etc., by Beale, f. 84.
Paper; ff. iii + 110 + 32*. 17th-cent. foliation. Folio. Late XVI cent.
