WILLIAM HUDSON, 'A TREATISE OF THE COURTE OF STARR CHAMBER'; 17th cent. Differs slightly from the text printed in Collectanea Juridica, ii, 1792, pp. 1-240. The present version also lacks the list of contents published on pp. 239-240 and found with the variations in some manuscripts, for instance Stowe MS. 419, ff. 3-6. The section headings found in the present manuscript agree with those found in Harley MS. 1226, stated to be in the hand of Hudson's son. Harley 1226 also lacks the list of contents but differs from the present text in some other respects. The original work appears to date from c. 27 March 1627-Dec. 1635 (see Collectanea, p. 205; Harley 1226, f. 2b). Possibly begun earlier, see Collectanea, p. 2. Dated 1621 in T. G. Barnes, 'Mr. Hudson's Star Chamber', D. J. Guth and J. W. McKenna (ed.), Tudor Rule and Revolution, 1982, p. 286.
