'A MAGAZINE OF HONOUR or a treatise concerning the Nobillitie of England according to the Lawes of England', collected by William Bird and enlarged by Sir John Doddridge (d.1628), justice of King's Bench 1612; early 17th cent. Partly Latin. Copy, temp. Charles I. The work was apparently completed between 1605 and 1616, see ff. 24-24b. First printed as The Magazine of Honour . . . , 1642, and reissued as Judge Dodaridge his Law of Nobility and Peerage, 1658. Harley MS. 451 and Lansdowne MS. 866, ff. 4-107b, are copies of another treatise on nobility ascribed in the latter, f. 3, to Bird.
Paper; ff. ii + 151. Folio. Temp. Charles I. One hand throughout. The number '392' is written in a 17th-cent. hand, f. 150b. '2s. 6d.', f. ii. Vellum binding, numbered '82' on spine.
