TREATISE BY SIR ROBERT BRUCE COTTON, 1st Bart.: 'An answeare made by commaund of Prince Henry to certaine proposicons of warre and peace delivered by his highnes by some of his Millitarie servantes' (title, f. 1); April 1609 (dated in Cotton MS. Cleopatra F.VI, ff. 1-36, the same text annotated apparently by Cotton). Copy, 1628 (dated title page and contents list, ff. xv-xvii). First published 1655. The present MS. has minor variations both from the printed version and from Cleopatra F.VI. Add. 11308, ff. 59-77b, is another, imperfect, 17th-cent. copy.
Paper; ff. xvii + 153. Contemporary foliation, ff. 2-138. Octavo. 1628. One secretary hand throughout, with italic headings. 'Sent £0-2s.0d.' in a 17th-cent. hand, f. 153b. '104', 17th-cent. hand, f. i. Vellum binding, titled and numbered '104' on the spine.
