1. ff. ii-74. List of all offices in the King's gift, with names of holders and the date of appointment; early 1619? The latest date given is 24 Dec. 1618 (f. 11b). Table of contents, etc., ff. ii-iv. Included in the list are the courts of justice, the navy, the Tower, tradesmen supplying the royal household and custodians of royal property throughout England and Wales. Office holding in the early Stuart period is discussed in G. E. Aylmer, The King's servants. The civil service of Charles I 1625-1642, 2nd edn., 1974.
2. ff. 89-111b. List of offices of which the reversion has not been granted, with names of holders and years of appointment; c. 1619.
Paper; ff. iv + 114. Contemporary foliation to art. 1 (ff. 1-74), continued in another 17th-cent. hand throughout, but lacking 82-88, possibly a missing quire of blank leaves. Art. 2 bears its own contemporary series of foliation, 1-24, lacking 5. Folio. c. 1619. Two secretary hands. Vellum binding with green silk ties, titled on front cover and numbered '115' on spine.
