1. ff. 1-39. 'Discorsi ai Principi di Italia . . . ', by Campanella; [1606-1607]. See Firpo, Bibliografia, no. 28, pp. 130-133, and his edition, Turin, 1945. The 'Discorsi' are also in Royal MS. 14.A.XVII, ff. 417-459 and Add. 48132, art. 5.
2. ff. 41-75. 'Assiomi, ò uero Ammaestramenti Politici cosi per paroli universali della Dottrina Politica, come Fondamentali alla Monarchia,' by Campanella; [bef. 1607]. See Firpo, Bibliografia, no. 8c, pp. 79-81. The 'Assiomi', also known as the 'Aforismi politici', are also in Add. 48132, art. 8 and Royal MS. 14.A.XVII, ff. 315-364. Beg. 'Nessuno domina a se solo.' Ends 'si avviddero i Grisoni, et Svizzeri, Fine delli assiomi di Tommaso Campanella'.
3. ff. 77-79b. 'De Regni Anglici Statu, et Religione': an anonymous account of England under James I. Latin. Beg. 'De Angliae Rege ita mihi videtur.' Ends 'foedus damum cum Turco.'
4. ff. 79b-84b. 'Congiura stata fatta contra il Re di Inghilterra, et scoperta.' An anonymous account in Italian of the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot, dated 'Di Londra, alli 17. di Novembre 1605.' Beg. 'Havendo il Re della Gran Bertagna [sic]'. Ends 'in ciò ogne esatta diligenza.'
Paper; ff. v + 84. 17th-cent. foliation. Folio. XVII cent. One Italian hand throughout, the same as Add. MSS. 48106-48107, 48146-48147. Artt. 3 and 4 were loose in the volume when the MS. came to the British Museum, but bear original foliation and are listed in CMA. Geometric drawings, ff. ii recto and verso, iv: see also Add. MSS. 48108 and 48114. The spine of the original vellum binding, numbered '117', is mounted in the volume (f. i).
