1. ff. 1-191. 'Compendio della Monarchia di Spagna fatta da Fra Thomaso Campanella'. See Firpo, Bibliografia, no. 5, pp. 56-67. According to Firpo the 'Monarchia' was composed between 10 April 1600 and 3 June 1601 (ibid., p. 57). In the Bibliografia, 60 MSS. of the work are listed, two of them being Royal MS.14 A.XX, ff. 1-191 and Add. 10689. To these should be added Harley MSS. 3563, ff. 101-307, and 4167 (briefly noted by Firpo in Ricerche Campanelliane, p. 294). The first Italian edition was published at Turin in 1854. The work consists of 32 chapters and a preface.
2. ff. 193-321b. 'Compendio della Monarchia del Messia et delle ragioni del dominio Ecclesiastico capo e membra di tutti i Principi . . . Con un discorso Delle ragioni che ha il Re Cattco. sopro il mondo nuovo et altri Regni d'Infideli contro coloro che di cio hanno scritto.' See Firpo, Bibliografia, no. 11, pp. 103-105. Other MSS. of the Italian 'Monarchia' are Sloane MS. 2255 and Royal MS. 14 A.XVII, ff. 506-629. The 'Discorso Delle ragioni che ha il Re Cattolico' is on ff. 307-320b, beg. 'Perche il Caetano cava da S. Thomaso' and ends 'ma di vera potesta.' Finally there is an 'Avvertimento a' Lettori', beg. 'Altrove per fine scristi', ends 'sopra le figure et historie passate' on ff. 320b-321b.
