TRUMBULL PAPERS. Vol. CCCXXIX.
1. Letters and reports, mostly unsigned, from the intelligence agent, 'Dr' Richard Kingston; 1694-1696. Kingston's status is uncertain; he does not appear in Oxford or Cambridge lists, but he held various livings and was a chaplain to Charles II (DNB). He is best known as an intelligence agent and pamphleteer, supplying information to the Earl of Nottingham as well as Trumbull; see H.M.C. Finch, IV, passim. Several of the letters and reports, brought together chiefly from Misc. XXVIII-XXXI, XXXVIII and LI, are printed or calendared in H.M.C. Downshire, I, pt. ii. See also Kingston's True History of the Several Designs and Conspiracies against His Majesties ... Person and Government (1698).
2. Letters and reports from the intelligence agent, Col. Maurice Hussey; 1695-1697, n.d. From Misc. XXVIII-XXXI, XXXVIII, XL, Add. 85. Several are calendared in H.M.C. Downshire, I, pt. ii.
