TRUMBULL PAPERS. VOLS. CCCXXIV-CCCXXXVI. Correspondence and papers of Trumbull as Secretary of State, Privy Councillor, secretary to the Lords Justices and Clerk of the Signet; 1687-1698. Trumbull was Secretary of State from 3 May 1695 till 1 Dec 1697. He was appointed Clerk of the Signet, an office under the general authority of the Secretary of State, in 1682.
