B. Anon. 'plan de lapartie (sic) qui doit, sauter parmine(sic) auchateau(sic) da licante(sic) en 1709' . One plan. Manuscript. Scale bar of 20 toises (= 8.2 cm.) [appx. 1:475]. 23.5 cm. x 36.5 cm.
Ink, grey wash and watercolour on paper. The watermark is similar to Heawood 760 and 769 (Holland c. 1710; Madrid, 1723). Prickmarks. Endorsed `128' and `LCC'Fr. The plan lacks a key for the letters, but it shows the trenches of the French besiegers in yellow and in grey the tunnel underneath the fortress and the locations of the enormous mines which were to kill the Allied commander, Major-General John Richards, who was defiantly standing on the parade ground above, on 3 March 1709.
