Althorp Papers. Vol. xcix. Narrative concerning the conduct of the Duchess from her first appointment to Queen Anne`s household in 1683 until her dismissal in 1711, written from her own narratives and recollections by Benjamin Hoadly, successively Bishop of Bangor, Hereford, Salisbury and Winchester; 1715. Copy in the hand of the Duchess`s secretary, Humphrey Fish, and her steward, Charles Hodges, circa 1720-1725. The original in Hoadly's handwriting is now Add. MS. 61426.
Paper binding, labelled on the cover, `Book A', [18th cent.?], with a modern casing of dark green leather, stamped with the Spencer arms. 370 x 250 mm.
