Comprising: vouchers to account; promissory notes and bonds in Lamb’s favour; deed from Sir Michaell Newton K.B. empowering Matthew Lamb to act on his behalf to recover sums owed to him; business papers of Peniston Lamb, Matthew’s uncle, 1723. 2. Papers of Sir Matthew Lamb concerning the 1761 election; 1761. Containing lists of the freeholders of Melbourne, co. Derby, Newton, co. Derby, and ‘The Peak’, some with their voting intentions noted. (234/9/1-8).
3. Correspondence of Sir Matthew Lamb concerning the 1768 election; 1767-1768. Containing reports of canvassing in Derbyshire and the intentions of a number of voters; includes references to general estate business. (234/9/9-13).

Containing: a request concerning the extension of the Grand Junction Canal, 1794; notes on members of the National Political Union, circa 1830; papers concerning the patronage of Henry Baker of Westminster, 1830s; petition for repeal of the Corn Law, circa 1840; letter of thanks from the inhabitants of Melbourne to Lamb on his resignation as Prime Minister, [circa 1841]; certificate of Freemanship of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, 1845.
