Lamb Papers (Series II). Vol. xxvi. Financial records connected with the payment by Peniston Lamb, Viscount Melbourne, of annuities to a variety of recipients; 1767-1847. The records consist largely of annuity bonds and warrants of attorney and are arranged chronologically. The description below divides the papers by the payee. (46/3, 46/4/2-26). Raymond; 1767-1768. Papers regarding an action of debt for £1400 on a bond at the suit of Jones Raymond esq. and Charles Raymond, of Valentine, Essex. Includes warrants of attorney, bonds for payment of an annual annuity to the Raymonds, a draft final judgement concerning CR’s claim that Lamb had not paid the annuity. (46/4/2-5, 17, 22-23; 46/3/2, 7-8).
Fletcher; 1775-1776. Annuity paid by Lamb to Henry Fletcher of London, banker. (46/3/1, 3-11 ).
Wilson; 1783-1785. Annuity paid by Lamb to John Wilson, esq., Captain in the 28th Regiment of Foot, 1783; with receipt from Philip Wilson, 1785 (46/3/12-14).
Hill; 1776. Annuities paid by Lamb to Duncan Davidson of London, merchant, and Richard Lowe of London, banker, which were assigned to Thomas Hill of Lincoln’s Inn in August 1776. (46/4/6-16).
Williams; 1783-1784 Annuity paid by Lamb to Thomas Williams of Marylebone and assigned to James Coby of Chigwell Road, Essex. (46/4/18-20).
Owen; 1788. Draft release and assignment from Humphrey Owen, Richard Arnold to Lamb, for £650 paid by Lamb to Owen, being the redemption of an annuity of £100.
Correspondence regarding the deeds of an exchange of land at Hatfield, co. Hertf., in 1832 covenanted to be produced by Lamb to Lord Cowper; 1847. (46/4/24-26).
