Maintained by Peniston Lamb, barrister, as one of the executors of the Earl of Thanet, continued by Sir Matthew Lamb as the executor of Peniston Lamb, later by Peniston Lamb, Viscount Melbourne, and Robert Lamb, Bishop of Peterborough, as Matthew’s executors, and subsequently maintained by Thomas Hill. Contains a copy of the Earl’s will, 31 July 1721, with codicils, 23 Sept. 1723 and 4 Feb. 1728 [NS 1729]. For Declaration of Trust relating to the Earl of Thanet’s will, 1771, see Add. Ch. 77236.
