HEATH AND VERNEY PAPERS. Vol. VIII (ff. 353). Miscellaneous papers relating to co. Kent and mainly to the Lathe of Sutton-at-Hone ; early 16th cent.-1687. The volume consists largely of papers of Sir John Heath concerning local administration within the county, for which he was at various times Justice of the Peace, Commissioner of Oyer and Terminer for repair of highways and bridges, Commissioner for Charitable Uses, etc. ; many are copies and drafts in his hand. The principal contents are :-
