LEEDS PAPERS. Vol. XLIX (ff. v + 168). 'Weights and Measures collected. . .' [by Colonel Thomas Colepeper]: notes and commonplaces, alphabetically arranged and including some inserted material, relating to weights, measures and other subjects, chiefly historical and legal, together with some personal anecdotes; compiled between 1684 (f. 1) and circ. 1698. Autograph. Similar compilations of Colepeper are in Harley MSS. 6817, 6818, 7585-7605. Ff. 21b, 50b, 108b are fragments of pleadings in a suit concerning Robert Cage, circ. 1676. Originally bound in the two halves (vellum) of a blank appointment by Colepeper of a deputy as examiner of woollens, 1681 (now ff. ii-v). A later wrapper (19th cent.?) bears the number '8' (f. i).
