(1) The Substance and Division of the Souldiers and other Chargis of the warres of ... the Staets Generall’: rates of pay, including some of civilians, and other expenses of war throughout the United Provinces, with lists of soldiers; 1607. ff. 1-34b.
(2) Treatise on the taxation and government of the United Provinces, in the form of a letter from 'A.B.'; Amsterdam, 30 Aug. 1672. Another copy, described as addressed to a 'Freind att the clubb att the Bull in Queen Street' is in Stowe MS. 182, ff. 101-107b. ff. 35-43b.
(3) 'A Booke of Articles of the Custome' of the lead mines in the wapentake of Wirksworth, co. Derby, being rules made at inquisitions at great barmotes in 1665 and 1667; 1672. As printed in G. Steer, The compleat Mineral Laws of Derbyshire, 1734, pp. 80-122, and The Miner's Guide, edited from the works of W. Hardy and T. Houghton, 1810, pp. 26-61, but lacking the last Article (no. LIX). Among inscriptions on paper covers (ff. 44, 60b) is a contemporary note that the book was to be sent to 'Mr Osborne' at Kiveton, co. York (f. 60b). ff. 44-60b.
(4) 'Reflections upon the League with France, danger of Popery and arbitrary power, &c.: in a lettre written by an Ignoto to an Ignoto before the late peace concluded with Holland', in support of the foreign policy of Charles II; London, 7 Dec. 1673. ff. 61-105b.
(5) A proposal for farming out the casual revenue to citizens of London; circ. 1674. ff. 106-158.
(6) Decree in a lawsuit settling the estate of Charles Stuart, 3rd Duke of Richmond (d. 1672); 5 June 1676. The claimants include the Duke's sister Katherine, and her husband Henry O'Brien, Lord O'Brien, parents of Donogh, Lord O'Brien, who in 1679 married Sophia, daughter of the 1st Duke of Leeds. ff. 159b-181b.
(7) 'An account of the proceedings [of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners] in the case of my Lord of London' [i.e. Henry Compton, Bishop of London]; 31 Aug.-6 Sept. 1686. Three other versions are in:- (a) Stowe MS. 305, ff. 3-7, and Add. MS. 4159, ff. 82-84b;-(b) Compton's own account in Add. MS. 25899, ff. 2-7b;-(c) Add. MS. 15551, ff. 43-81, printed as An Exact Account of the whole proceedings against ... Henry, Lord Bishop of London, 1688. ff. 182-187.
(8) 'Humanum est Errare, or False Steps on both sides, with the Author's Observation upon the late Abdication', by [John Sheffield, 2nd Earl of Mulgrave (1st Duke of Buckingham and Normanby 1703)], criticising the behaviour of both James II and the Prince of Orange; 1688. Other copies are in Harley MS. 6274, ff. 81-109b, and Add. MS. 27382, ff. 77-97b. ff., 188-217.
(9) Legal arguments (with corrections) 'Concerninge the jurisdiction of the President and Councell of the marches of Wales in the 4 English countyes [i.e., cos. (10) Return made to the House of Commons by William Lowndes, Secretary of the Treasury, of royal grants made to individuals, Dec. 1696-Nov. 1699, followed by information (f. 245) relating to fee-farm and other rents from the Honour of Windsor granted to William, Earl of Portland, and (f. 246) an abstract of fee-farm rents for which contracts had been made. ff. 226-246.
