1. ff. ii-viii. Four MS lists of names, relating to but not representing the ultimate list of subscribers to the Hallam Memorial fund. Hand unknown.
2. ff. ix-x. Printed lists of names, detailing a public subscription towards a monument to be erected [in St Paul’s Cathedral] in memory of Henry Hallam, in consideration of his ‘eminent services ….. to the Historical Literature of England’. Dated 21 May 1860. It records:
a. the Meeting, held on 27 February 1860 and chaired by the Marquis of Lansdowne, which formed the resolution.
b. the names of the Committee, including W. E. Gladstone, Sir Charles Lyell and Alfred Tennyson, and the Committee for France, including François Guizot.
c. the First List of Subscriptions, including the Dean of St Paul’s as well as friends of A. H. Hallam.
d. the Second List of Subscriptions, including The Society of Antiquaries, The Royal Society of Literature, William Whewell of Trinity College, Cambridge, and Alfred Tennyson.
e. the Third List of Subscriptions, including Charles Darwin and Emily Jesse, the fiancée of A. H. Hallam.
3. ff. 1-6 and f. 45v. MS list of subscriptions to the Hallam Memorial Fund, dated 27 February1860 – 15 April 1864 and recording that £1205 .. 11 .. 0 was collected from named subscribers and £37 .. 6 .. 0 from unnamed subscribers.
4. ff. 7-8v. MS notes, ‘Lessons on the Creed’, dated September 1891, written by a member of the Lennard family.
5. ff. 9-45v. MS notes on the Scriptures, written by another member of the Lennard family; n.d.
6. ff. xi-xiii. MS notes on the Resurrection on writing-paper headed ‘Wickham Court, West Wickham, Kent’, the Lennard family seat; n.d.
