Hallam Papers. Vol. x a. Inscribed in pencil ‘Julia Hallam later Lennard’ and the text headed ‘Journal. Lent 1851’. The journal starts on 19 March 1851 and finishes on 15 February 1852 (shortly before her wedding) with additional entries for the following Easter Eve and Easter Day. Contains much personal self-criticism and a great sense of loss after the death of her brother.
