1. ff. 1-2v. A list entitled ‘Notices of the Hallam family from the Parish Records of Boston Lincolnshire’; n.d. It begins with the baptism of Cheyney Hallam 23 September 1685 and ends with the burial of Anne Hallam 26 July 1773.
2. ff. 3-5. Family tree of the Horton, Roberts and Hallam families from the 17th to the late 18th century; n.d. See also Add. Ch. 77166.
3. f. 6. Some observations on Mr John Lowe’s Will. Signed by Thomas Birch, divine and historical writer (b.1705; d.1766).
4. ff. 7-8. The Will of Elizabeth Lowe, leaving her Estate to her cousin, John Hallam, Dean of Bristol, and appointing him Executor; dated and signed by her 14 November 1788.
5. ff. 9-22. The Will of Henry Hallam, leaving his Estate to his daughter Julia and, among many personal bequests, £1000 to Emily Tennyson Jesse and £500 to Alfred Tennyson. Signed by him and dated 10 July 1850.
6. ff. 23-24. A note signed by Arthur Penrhyn Stanley (b.1815; d.1881), Dean of Westminster, concerning an inscription to be put over a picture of Henry Hallam in a room in Canon Stanley’s house in Canterbury and expressing his wish that the picture should remain there. Together with envelope bearing the date 1855.
7. ff. 25-26. An ‘Historical Notice of the life and works of M. Hallam, Foreign Associate of the Academy’; dated 1862.
8. ff. 27-30. Royalties due to the Estate of Henry Hallam from sales of his 10-volume History and the ‘Students’ Hallam’ in 1897 and 1898.
