1. Latin and English epigrams on Andrew Melville, including a copy of the verses by Bishop Joseph Hall, beg. 'On th'Altar royall Melvin frowns to fynde', docketed 'Verses of Melvin Scotus 1606'.
2. Sir Walter Raleigh, 'Orders to be observed by the Commanders of the Fleete and Land Companyes'; 3 May 1617. Copy in a scribal hand. See Beal, Index, where this manuscript is listed as RaW 702.
3. Letter from John Donne the younger to Sir Henry Vane; [1651]. Copy. The letter was printed as the dedicatory epistle to Donne's edition of his father's Essayes in Divinity (1651) but cancelled in most surviving copies.
4. 'Upon the Kings returne to the Citty of London', beg. 'Singe and bee merry Kinge Charles is come back'; [1660?]. Imperfect.
5. Three pamphlets on stage-coaches: [John Cressett], Reasons Humbly offered for the suppressing all Hackney Stage-Coaches and Caravans (Wing R544), An Apology for Stage-Coaches (not in Wing), and Stage-Coaches Vindicated: or, Certain Animadversions and Reflections upon several Papers writ by J.C. of the Inner Temple, Gent. against Stage-Coaches (Wing S5161); [1672]. Printed.
6. Two ballads by Walter Pope, The Catholick Ballad: or an Invitation to Popery (Wing P2906) and Room for a Ballad, or, A Ballad for Rome (Wing P2915); 1674. Printed; the latter in red.
7. Collection of English poems, with the title: 'Poeticall Essayes upon severall Subjects, By an unknown Author, Principally written for his own Private diversion.' The poems include 'Upon Sir Philip Sidney's Defence of Poesy', 'To the Right Honourable Charles Montagu, Author of that most Excellent Poem upon King Williams Victory at the Boyn', 'Upon the Poems of Mrs Philipps', 'Mr Andrew Marvells character', 'To the judicious and ingenious Dr Walter Pope Fellow of the Royall Society', and 'To King William and Queen Mary entring on the Government of Great Brittain &c'; [after 1690]. 8. Collection of English poems, including 'A Poem on the late-designed Assassination of King William', 'On the 5th of November 1680', 'To King James the second', and 'To a friend upon reading Mr Charles Gildon's Miscellany Poems'; [circa 1695]. 9. 'A Poem in vindication of the High & mighty Monarch William the Great, King of Great Brittain &c. In answer or opposition to a lying Pamphlet found in the City of York, & deservedly teas'd or torn in pieces by the Authour of this Poem', beg. 'Hail Happy William! Thou art justly great'; [circa 1697]. This is a reply to Henry Hall's satirical 'Panegyric on King William' (beg. 'Hail happy William! Thou art strangely great') circulated in manuscript (e.g. Brotherton Library, Leeds, MS Lt 6) and first printed in Poems on Affairs of State (1703), pp 401-402.
