Calendared in H.M.C. 7th Report, pp. 409-410, 371. The verso of some letters contain rough notes in Preston's hand for letters to and meetings with the French Secretary of State for foreign affairs, etc.
2. ff. 101-272. Memorials presented by Lord Preston to the French court, with some related letters and papers and some official French replies; 1682-1684. Partly drafts in the hand of Godet. Partly French, Latin and Greek. Mostly relating to individuals, but also including papers relating to Scottish privileges in France, and to Charles II's mediation between France and Genoa. Calendared in H.M.C. 7th Report, pp. 410-411.
