JOHN GOWER. Vol. III. Corrected proofs of Balades and other poems by John Gower; 1818. Printed. The revised and corrected sheets were returned in separate sections headed 'for Press'. They carry some instructions, etc., in the hand of the editor (cf. f. 50), though a note to the printer (f. 14v) is signed with the initials 'W. D'. Label (f. ii) bearing red cross of St. George pasted inside front cover, with old pressmark 'D A2' in pencil on front flyleaf (f. iii).
Paper: ff. iii+62. 19th-cent. binding of half morocco. Gilt-stamped legend along spine 'GOWER'S BALADES &C M D.CCC.XVIII.' 'G. HARRIS NO 13 SHOE LANE LONDON' stamped upside-down across corner of front paste-down (f. i).
