2. ff. 9-15 'Month's Mind', for piano; 'for May 25, 1933' (f. 15). With a note in the composer's hand on the origin of the title and a quotation from John Brand's Observations on Popular Antiquities, 1913. Engraver's markings. Published London: Augener, 1935. Proof sheets corrected by the composer are Music Library, H.403.n.(1.). 355 x 260mm.
3. ff. 18-19. 'Intruder', for piano; n.d. This was later recast as 'Cypress', no. 2 of Greenways suite. 356 x 256mm.
4. f. 21. 'The Palm and May', no. 3 of Greenways; initialled and dated 'J. I. Deal, 1937'. Pencil sketch only. Published London: Winthrop Rogers, 1938. 356 x 264mm.
5. ff. 23-49. 'Sarnia: an island sequence', for piano; 1940-1941. With typewritten quotations from Pomponius Mela (f. 26), Victor Hugo (f. 32) and Swinburne (f. 39) prefacing each section. Dedications are: 1. 'to Alfred Sebire' (f. 27); 2. 'to Michael in Guernsey' (f. 33), i.e. Michael Rayson; 3. 'to Mrs Mignot' (f. 38). Engraver's markings. Published London: Winthrop Rogers, 1941. 355 x 262mm.
6. ff. 51-65. 'Three Pastels', for piano; 1941. 1. 'A Grecian Lad'; 2. 'The Boy Bishop'; 3. 'Puck's Birthday'. Engraver's markings. A note at the end of no. 1 (f. 55b) states that it was rewritten from an earlier MS. (of circa 1906). The pieces were dedicated to Evlyn Howard-Jones, for whom Ireland had written the pieces in his student days. 355 x 262mm.
7. ff. 67-78. 'Columbine', for piano; May 1949. Published London: British and Continental Music Agencies, 1953. Two versions are represented here: the original version (ff. 67-72); the revised (1951) published version (ff. 73-78) with engraver's markings and fingering added in pencil. 355 x 262mm.
8. ff. 80-84. 'Meditation on John Keble's Rogation Hymn', for organ; 'J. I.
29 May 1958' (f. 84). This was Ireland's last work. Pencil corrections and engraver's markings. Published London: B. Feldman & Co., 1959. 358 x 252mm.
