WHITELOCKE MANUSCRIPTS. Vol. I. 'Liber Famelicus', a common-place book or diary of Sir James Whitelocke; 1609-1632. The volume, which begins with an account of his family and early life, is arranged in chronological sequence. Whitelocke commenced the book in 1609 (f. 2). Included are accounts, mainly for Whitelocke's professional receipts and expenses. Printed under the title Liber Famelicus of Sir James Whitelocke, ed. J. Bruce, Camden Society (1858): almost all the financial accounts are omitted from this edition. ff. 98-129 are blank.
