(2) Pitt's speech on the Budget, 3 Dec. 1798: this version, which is a copy of the shorthand notes of William Ramsey, is fuller than, and varies considerably from, those printed in The Parliamentary Register, 1798-1799, pp. 94-116, and W. S. Hathaway, The Speeches of... William Pitt, 1806, iii, pp. 300-331. ff. 202-228.
