WILLIAM MORRIS LITERARY MANUSCRIPTS. Vol. XVIII (ff. ii + 93). 'Sigurd the Volsung', continued from 45313 but with a break of about 200 lines which is supplied in 45316, ff. 19-32 see below; from Book II, canto 10, 'And he called me Victory Wafter and gave me the whetted sword' to Book III, canto 5, 'Woe worth the while for her love and the day when she was born' (C.W., xii, pp. 125-163). The text proper begins on f. 2, but there are additions and corrections on f. 1. ff. 1-81. Then, reversing the volume, (ff. 93-81b) the whole of Book III, canto 6 up to 'To the son of the King's and the wanderer and the shaker of the sword', the few concluding lines being found in 45315 (C.W., xii, pp. 163-173). The text proper begins on f. 92b, but there are additions and corrections on f. 93. This last section (canto 6) differs very considerably from the printed version and is heavily corrected.
