WILLIAM MORRIS LITERARY MANUSCRIPTS. Vol. XXVI (ff. i + 11) Homer's 'Iliad'. Copy in an unidentified hand of a translation up to line 214 of Book 1 from the Oxford edition of D. B. Monro and T. W. Allen (1902). According to May Morris, C. W., xiii, p. xiv, this was all that Morris completed, the rough draft being written at the back of one of his drafts of the 'Odyssey'. The text runs from f. 2 to f. 11, with additions and corrections on the verso leaves commencing f. 1b. On f. 1 is a note in the hand of Dr Robert Steele recording Mrs Morris's recollections of the work, copied from the original in 45341, f. 93.
