1. Gregorio Espinosa, Governor of Cumana and Guayana, to the king, on the condition of affairs in his government, the progress of the missions, the interference of the Jesuits, and especially Padre Bernardo Rotella, in the illicit traffic, etc. Cumana, 30 Sept. 1743. With reference to the Fiscal, 18 June, 1744, his report concerning the Governor, 25 Jan. 1745, and minute of the Council, 5 Feb. f. 1.
2. The same to the same, on his official visit to Guaian, the condition of the natives, establishment of a new district at Cunury, state of the missions, etc., with reference to the following piezas; Cumana, 30 Sept. 1743. With reference to the Fiscal, 18 June, 1744, and his report, 25 Jan. 1745. f. 25.
3. The same to the same, on the delay in constructing the fort in the " Angostura " of the R. Orinoco, giving an account, with autos, of his proceedings in regard to it, etc; Cumana, 30 Sept. 1743. f. 44. With reference to the Fiscal, 18 June, 1744 (cf. Add. MS. 36337, art. 4). f. 73 b.
