REDGRAVE HALL PAPERS. Vol. III. Miscellaneous manorial records, viz.: 1. Abstracts from court-rolls of Rickinghall (se. Add. Rolls 63378-63416) 28 Feb. 1259-18 Jan. 1304, imperfect at end. Followed in the same early 14th cent. hand (f. 4) by a similar abstract of court-rolls of Tyftishale [Tivetshall, co. Norf.], circ. 1268-1318 (an added entry at the end is in the hand of art. 2), and in another hand (f. 6 b) by the draft of a letter in English from T[homas] R[attlisden], Abbot of Bury [1479-1497 ?] to dom. Johannes Eye and dom. Johannes Cambryge, charging them to correct one dom. H. Brade, or else "3e xall goo to prison bothe too and ly pere pis vii 3ere tyl 3our feet fall fro 3our legges," n.d. f. 1.
2. Another abstract of Rickinghall rolls covering partly the same period, 18 Dec. 1259-6 May 1365 (Add. Rolls 63378-63476). In a hand of temp. Edw. III. f. 7.
3. "Rikinghale extent no. 13" : apparently a gathering from a vellum register of Bury manors, 15th cent. Besides Rickinghall Inferior (f. 21 b) and Rickinghall Superior (f. 27), it includes part of Hinderclay (?) at f. 21 and Wattisfield at f. 27 b. There are many references to the Black Book of Bury ("nigrum registrum de vestiario," now Cambridge University Library MS. Mm. 4.19) and other abbey registers. f. 21.
