Title:

REDGRAVE HALL PAPERS: manorial documents and a few state-papers, etc., from the muniments of Redgrave Hall, co. Suff. The properties concerned were in great part acquired by Sir Nicholas Bacon, afterwards Lord Keeper, from the spoils of Bury St. Edmunds Abbey in 1544, or a subsequent purchase by him of lands of Mettingham College, co. Suff., which had been granted in 1542 to Sir Anthony Denny. The property afterwards passed to Sir Thomas Holt, father of Sir John Holt, Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench (d. 1710). Twelve volumes. From George Rowland Holt-Wilson's sale, Sotheby's, 11 Apr. 1921 (of. Add. Ch. 62771- 63594).
