Various accounts of the rebellion at Kabul, and the destruction of the British army, including (a) Translation (f. 74) of a letter (1841) from Muhammad Akbar Khan, son of the Amir Dost Muhammad Khan, to 'Abd al-Samad Khan, describing his murder of Sir William Macnaghten:-(b) Copy (f. 129), with observations, of part of Lieutenant (afterwards Sir Vincent) Eyre's Military Operations at Cabul, 1843, made by George Broadfoot during the actual siege of Jalalabad from the original brought in by Captain Colin Mackenzie when visiting the garrison on parole. Another copy by Broadfoot of the full narrative, together with part (9 Jan.-23 Apr.) of Eyre's Journal of Imprisonment in Afghanistan, occurs at ff. 181 b and (reversing the volume) 178 b, and f. 234 b.
