VERNON PAPERS. Vol. LXVII (ff. 254). Letter-book containing the official correspondence (both sent and received) of. Sir Ralph Winwood and Sir Richard Spencer as envoys to the States General of Holland; 18 Feb. 1605/6-11 Mar. 1608/9. The material has for the most part been printed in full by E. Sawyer, Memorials of Affairs of State (1725, 3 vols.) or calendared by the Hist. MSS. Comm. (Duke of Buccleuch's MSS. at Montagu House, vol. i, 1899). On f. 254 is the note: "Remaining in this book this 2d of July 1660-258-ffolios." Other notes are: "Berghen op Zoom 11° Martij 1615" on f. 254 and "Geo. More" (17th cent.?) on f. 253 b at the side of a small seal of arms (on a chevron between three unicorns' heads erased three fleurs-de-lis, a crescent for difference and a moorcock (?) for crest.)
